Hark ! The Herald Angel sings ...
Last Saturday, after worship practice, the PIC went out gallivanting again. Somehow, juggling between 2 cars and driving along the streets of Singapore is no easy feat ! It was funny how the 3 of us managed to, and it was almost like 'police & thief' car chase along the busy roads of Bendemeer area. We ended up checking out some of the restaurants along Prinsep street area and this music place caught our attention - "Hark Music Cafe"
One of those places where you can sit and lounge and listen to chinese pop music performed by their resident musicians and singers. I admit that I'm not so fond of their high bar stools, cos I have short legs, it was weird to have swinging legs with no leg support at the bottom ! A bit uncomfortable, but I guess what to do when you are short !! heheeh What's more, you can be your own singing popstar there and they will play music accompaniment for you while you showcase your talents in front of the crowd. Not bad, a bit like those "Mu Chuan" and "Ai Qing Hai" concept. Nice cosy decor which I think E-nana likes, esp. the secret garden flavour and hanging greenery from the ceiling. Hmm, dunno how to explain.
It was nice listening to others singing, but what was more satisfying was when our own resident flautist, decides to take the stage and *ahem* do her own guitar accompaniment and rendition of "Wo Yuan Yi". It was great !! You know lah, if there's anyone who isn't afraid of stage fright, it's her !!! Very very happy ... Somemore the accompanying keyboardist is an indirect acquaintance of hers from SMU (I think)
Oh well, small world ! For those who wanna check out this place ... Visit http://www.harkmusic.com/

Overdue entry
Well, well, well, when you receive msn reminders like these, you know that someone is serious about you blogging something they consider important *ahem*
3/6/2006 10:27:34 AM <someone> can u go update abt our wkend escapade
3/7/2006 12:20:36 AM <someone> rem to blog when u are free
3/7/2006 9:31:43 AM <someone> rem to blog when ur free,....hehe
I guess I better do this before I incur someone's wrath ! Anyway, this is an overdue entry but the PIC did have an interesting weekend last week. I think it started on Friday night where 2 PIC members met for dinner in town after combing through orchard road from Lucky Plaza to Meridien to Centrepoint running 'errands'. It was only later at 9.30 pm or so where our 3rd PIC member joined us after work and we decided to do some chilling out. We are in Singapore, sigh, seriously where can we go to chill without seeing people jammed packed on the dance floor and soaking with perspiration and convulsing right before your eyes ? Honestly, ain't many nice places to chill with good music. Long ago, my favourite used to be the Somerset Bar, but it has since many years ago closed down ... (I never quite know the reason why)
Anyway, we decided to check out Raffles Hotel 'Long Bar' because a certain member has been quite 'gian' to visit after knowing that you can simply be a litter bug throwing peanut shells on the floor without getting a summon ticket or having to do community service at Changi Beach. There is an in-house band there by the name of "Moodique" that sings contemporary and pop hits. We had an interesting night there, sitting by the bar counter, but simply enjoying the music and the band. Quite fascinated about how the band was playing very well together, complimenting each others extremely well. From the bassist, to the keyboardist, to the saxophonist who was also a percussionist, to the vocalists and electric guitarist, all of them integrated very well. We had some spontaneous crowd that broke into dancing on the floor before the band and it was just fun for us to chill and enjoy our drinks.
So yeah, there you have it, the escapade which is not so escapade after all ehehehehe ... :)

Jalan Kayu Outing
Last night, we had a S.E.E ambush at Jln Kayu ... (S.E.E mainly comprising the name initial of those who were deployed in the outing) It came about that S.E.E were practising really hard for this Sunday's service. I think we did quite well considering some people hasn't touched or dusted their instruments for awhile, and another one keep thinking she only has a kopi license and no talent ! What rubbish !! Anyway, we ambushed the Jln Kayu prata shop, but we were dismayed. Not by the crowd, more by the standard of the food. Expensive pratas (more than the ones we usually hang out at) and it took quite some time before they arrive. I would have fainted from the waiting. My Maggie Mee Goreng was a tad spicy .. Erm, lost all forms of sensation after the ambush. There was somewhat an empty feeling in the middle section of my body namely my TUMMY ! I think we will not venture there again, a little disappointed. Quite different from the 3 yrs ago outing we had at Psalmist Movie Marathon !!!!!!!!!! Wah ... Thinking about the marathon .... Really trigger back some fond mem'ries. Wacky time !

New Look ....
Hi all, I've decided to give the PIC blog a new look .... and it's now done ! Anyway, C-nana has gone back to Aus to start her new academic year .... press on !!! E-nana, Esther and I are all busy with our work and all of us are being tried and tested at this moment. As to how long we can tahan, we really dunno, but we are praying for God to be with us everyday in every decision we make and in every step we take. I just want to encourage my fellow PIC with this insight from one of my favourite author A.W.Tozer ...
Face Down, Listening
Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying: "As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations." --Genesis 17:3-4
The Scriptures declare, "Abram fell on his face" as the Lord talked with him (Genesis 17:3). Abraham was reverent and submissive. Probably there is no better picture anywhere in the Bible of the right place for mankind and the right place for God. God was on His throne speaking, and Abraham was on his face listening!
Where God and man are in relationship, this must be the ideal. God must be the communicator, and man must be in the listening, obeying attitude. If men and women are not willing to assume this listening attitude, there will be no meeting with God in living, personal experience.... Yes, Abraham was lying face down in humility and reverence, overcome with awe in this encounter with God. He knew that he was surrounded by the world's greatest mystery. The presence of this One who fills all things was pressing in upon him, rising above him, defeating him, taking away his natural self-confidence. God was overwhelming him and yet inviting and calling him, pleading with him and promising him a great future as a friend of God! Men Who Met God, 21-22.
"In this fast-paced, busy life, Lord, we don't spend nearly enough time face down before You. Tozer talks of lying flat on his face in his study in prayer; draw me to this position of humility and reverence more often this year, I pray. Amen."

3.2.1.
time to countdown. yucks. finally with my fingers instead of my toes n fingers. time flies. many things changed. some for the better, others, with a tinge of unfamiliarity. new things form, some old things remain. take for example our all time fave past time- ktv-ing.
e-nana is right, this is one of my most meaningful times back. time seems to past by faster when ur having a meaningful time, in a blinks of the eye, its abt time to halt all these, a comma? or a full stop? in this case i'd rather view it as the comma.
transitions transitions transitions..yet the word of the Lord remains forever n unchanged. wat a comfort.
i pray that the 3 of u will press on strong, and i noe u guys will. another trial, another testing, and also another phrase of breakthrough. so press on, hang on tight, He will not give u more than wat u cant bear, for He noes our limits.
the greatest thing? He loves as so much more den we can ever imagine. every little n big thing will be take care in Him.
jia you guys!!
